Saving biodiversity, one plant at a time!

Our mission is to increase the number of native plants being utilized in landscapes. 

Currently, we are doing this by reaching out to landowners and developers who will be clearing land for development.  We request permission to access the property and dig up native plants growing there.  We have a team of over 200 volunteers who scout areas for native plants and transplant as many as possible into new locations, where they can continue to serve their roles in the ecosystem.  

At each of our plant rescue events, volunteers are educated about the importance of native plants in our landscapes. Another focal issue is the problem of invasive plants in our native ecosystems and how their use in landscaping leads to interference with natural ecosystem functions. 

Volunteers learn how to identify native and invasive plants while making new friends with like-minded individuals.
